Community Housing Limited (CHL) Group of Companies is an innovative and best practice affordable housing organisation which assists access to, develops and manages sustainable housing for people in need.

Main Activities:

In coordination with the design officer and quantity surveyor, the consultant will have to calculate the dimensions of the structure of a two stories building in order to finalize a bill of quantity prepared by the quantity surveyor.

DELIVERABLES:

  • Dimensions of concrete structure:

– Foundations

– Posts

– Beams

– Slab

  • Dimensions of steel bars
  • Roof design: dimensions of steel trusses
  • Justification with standard design with references

Contract Duration: 1 week

Qualification: Civil Engineering with experience in structural design.

A Site Manager Engineering will manage part of a construction project; they also help with technical advice and supervise other members of staff. The work can be varied as projects can range from working on a large-scale housing estate to building a new shopping complex. Site engineers should understand the different needs projects have.

Key tasks of the job include:

  • managing parts of construction projects
  • overseeing building work
  • undertaking surveys
  • setting out sites and organising facilities
  • supervising contracted staff
  • ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales
  • liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff
  • checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
  • providing technical advice; problem solving
  • ordering and negotiating the price of materials
  • ensuring site safety.

Flexibility is important as contracts are often Long-term, and relocation may be necessary.

To be a professionally qualified engineer you will need an accredited degree in construction, building, or civil/structural engineering and to study for a professional qualification.

Community Housing Limited (CHL) Industries in Timor-Leste has activities to building housing,  to improve the quality of life, introducing durable, modern and affordable housing types that suit Timor-Leste , providing on-the-job training in production and construction skills, and providing employment to assist income generation.

According to those activities CHL Industries now is seeking for the suitable candidates to fill the positions currently available are :

  • Procurement and Logistic (1 person)

Minimum requirements :

  • Advanced degree in relevant field;
  • At least 2 years professional experience in a related technical field;
  • Previous work experience in a construction company is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, Tetum and Bahasa Indonesia;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a member of a team.

Position Title: Junior ESTIMATOR

Reports To:  Design Manager

Overview:

Responsible for estimating projects for Community Housing Limited.    This includes all conceptual.

negotiated and competitive bid estimates, and interfacing with project managers, all support teams and client

relations to achieve precise and accurate estimates.

 

Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 Prepares  commercial  estimates per bid procedure

 Prepares subcontractor evaluations

 Reviews all plans and specifications, permit set of drawings and Owner requirements with Design Manager

 Prepares bid proposal, including the cost breakdown, clarifications, scope and exclusions

 Prepares drawing list

 Processes and distribute all R.F.I.s for estimating and job addendums

 Prepares subcontract takeoffs
