Position Title: National Adviser – Review of the Nabilan Ending Violence Against Women Program
Duration of Term: Up to 14 days, between 17 October and 28 October 2016, full-time availability required
Location: Dili, Timor-Leste, with some travel within Timor-Leste
The Australian Embassy Timor-Leste is seeking the services of a National Adviser from mid-October to mid-November 2016 (up to 14 days) to participate in a Technical Advisory Group to review its Nabilan Ending Violence Against Women program.
The Nabilan Program is an AUD 4 million per year investment, designed for an eight year period (4 years [2014-2018] + 4 years [2018-2222]).
The Program is funded by the Australian Government and implemented by The Asia Foundation (TAF).
Nabilan works with the Government of Timor-Leste (GoTL) and NGO Partners to better understand the causes and effects of violence on women and children, and uses that knowledge to inform both policy and programs. It supports violence prevention activities and services (including access to justice) for women and children who have experienced violence.
This Program has the potential to make a significant impact on reducing violence against women and children in Timor-Leste.
Technical Advisory Group:
The primary purpose of the TAG is to support program improvement by providing technical advice to the Australian Embassy, The Asia Foundation and the GoTL on the effectiveness of the Nabilan Program to date.
The secondary purpose of the TAG is accountability.
