Major  Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. The productivity and effectiveness of the office work.

Promote the productivity and effectiveness of the office by drafting and/or administering a relevant Information Management Plan and Budget, including computerization, telecommunications and records management, and by ensuring the appropriateness of local computing and telecommunications facilities to meet programme requirements.

  1. The office’s integrated information technology integration

Support the office’s information technology needs through seamless integration of UNICEF organizational computer applications (e.g Virtual Integrated System of Information (VISION), with specific local office requirements.

  1. Effective customer support and training

Ensure effective customer support in the area of information technology and telecommunications by providing computer training as well as troubleshooting and ad-hoc technical assistance to users.

Under the guidance of Nutrition Specialist, incumbent is accountable for professional technical contribution to project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of Nutrition programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals and strategy, with emphasis on addressing gender inequalities.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1.  Programme/Project Management Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date information required for effective Nutrition programme and project design, addressing gender inequalities and determinants of gender equality where relevant in implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation. Draft sound Nutrition programme budgets for review by the supervisor.

2.      Project Efficiency and Effectiveness Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through implementation follow-on, including gender-specific monitoring UNICEF inputs, local conditions and resources, flow of supply and non-supply assistance and Nutrition project status.

3.      Work Plan and Project Documentation Analyze collected data and information and prepare progress reports using agreed upon gender indicators where needed; assist in draft changes in Nutrition project work plans and assist in identification of required supplies and equipment as well as in the drafting of Country Programme Recommendation and other project documentation, assuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and plans of action.

Purpose of the Position
Under the guidance of the Chief of Education, you will be accountable for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the Child Friendly School (CFS) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the programme management, delivery and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives. Across the Education programme, particularly in CFS programme, you will be accountable for identifying different inequalities in education, and for developing innovative approaches and programmes to eliminating these inequalities. You will collaborate across the programmes to ensure holistic CFS approach addressing cross-cutting issues, such as WASH in Schools and Disaster Risk Reduction. Ensures that monitoring mechanisms are in place to track progress towards disparity reduction goals and targets in CFS programme. Coordinate with early learning programme to ensure smooth transition from pre-primary to primary level.
