Note: This position will be based in Baucau but must be able to travel regularly between Dili and project districts.



  1. Background:


Catholic Relief Services plans to implement a Community Driven Nutrition Improvement Project with a grant from the Japanese Social Development Fund (JSDF) to help address the high prevalence of under nutrition in Timor-Leste (particularly amongst children). The project will target communities that fall in the lowest living standards group in the eastern districts of Baucau and Viqueque, aiming to directly benefit 4,470 children and 5,503 pregnant and lactating women.


  1. Objectives and Scope of the Assignment


The primary function of the M&E Officer is the development of a strong monitoring and evaluation system that contributes to quality of evidence-based programming through solid data management, systematic documentation of lessons learned, and incorporation of beneficiary accountability measures.

Catholic Relief Services/Timor Leste (CRS/TL) seeks data entry operator for a Seed System Security Assessment (SSSA) to be conducted in October 2013 covering four districts of Timor-Leste, i.e. Aileu, Ainaro, Ermera and Baucau. The consultant will be required to perform data entry of completed questionnaires at field site and work closely with the SSSA team. The positions are for national staffs.

Objectives of this consultancy

The objective of the consultancy is to obtain accurate, up to date and useable information generated from the database from all materials provided to the consultant.

The successful candidate will be a data entry operator with minimum 1 year experience working with databases, spreadsheets and word processing software, in both English and Tetum.  Specific experience in working with agricultural and/or survey data is preferred.
