Purpose of position

To take a primary role in data collection systems in the Nutritious Food Enterprises (NFE) project. Working with the program manager in overall planning. Assisting the Cooking Facilitator where needed.

Only applicants with data collection type experience will be considered for this position

 

Contract Period

12 month contract

 

Job Responsibilities:

1.      Overall data collection of NFE project activities (including surveys for baseline, end line and project surveys) and also progress evaluation of NFE activities.

2.      Assist in the M&E of the project activities as per the activity chart, log frame.

3.      Conduct ongoing follow up visits in communities of Uma Tolu, Luca and Caraubalo, particularly with Chefe Sukos and Chefe Aldeias.

4.      Act responsibly in the job assigned and practice good conduct according to the ADRA Timor-Leste Policy Manual or staff handbook.

5.      Undertake any other tasks that may be delegated by the ADRA Timor-Leste Program Manager / Finance Manager that are in keeping with the scope of the role.

Purpose of position

To take a primary role as a cooking facilitator in the Nutritious Food Enterprises (NFE) project. The cooking facilitator’s main role will be to train project groups in new, innovative, healthy and nutritious culinary practices. To manage the progress of the 3 groups in achieving their cooking objectives and targets.

Job Responsibilities:

1.       Field planning implementation and progress evaluation of NFE activities.

2.       Source practical and up to date cooking resources that can be used in project communities.

3.       Conduct ongoing follow up visits in communities of Uma Tolu, Luca and Caraubalo, particularly with Chefe Sukos and Chefe Aldeias.

4.       Take the lead in conducting the cooking demonstrations and organising any food related activities that the cooking groups will be involved in.

To take a primary role in managing the Nutritious Foods Enterprises (NFE) project in Viqueque district. Particularly with managing the cooking facilitator, data collector and other NFE staff. Creating work plans with field NFE staff, and evaluating progress of NFE activities. Working with the program manager in overall planning.

Purpose of position
To improve knowledge of proper nutrition, as well as the uptake of staple crops, local vegetables, (and potential nutrition and income indicators) of rural communities in Viqueque district of Timor-Leste by implementing a life-skills program with various groups in Viqueque District under the LOSA project.

Role dimension

1.      Develop material and implement a life-skills (including nutrition) program in Viqueque District.

2.      Conduct ongoing follow up visits in communities after the completion of training events throughout the life of the project.

3.      Regularly coordinate with the Development Facilitator and Field Office Coordinator in the development of schedules for trainings considering appropriate times.

4.      Use residual time to assist in the setup and development / operations of the learning centre.

5.      Conduct the life-skills training at both group level and school level.

6.      Represent ADRA Timor-Leste at meetings, and workshops related to the health sector at local, national or international levels or as assigned by the Country Director / Program Manager.

Purpose of position
As an integral member of the LOSA project staff, the Development Facilitator will facilitate activities at the community level, conduct community level discussions, social mobilisation of groups and learning centre members, general responsibility for each learning centre set up and operations.

Applicants with agriculture / kitchen garden experience will be more likely considered for this position

 

Contract Period:

12 month contract

Starting no later than 18 August, 2016 and finishing 17 August, 2017. 

 

Role dimension

1.      Assist to develop material and implement various project systems which may include M&E, Baseline, End line, DIP, and other systems and tasks for the LOSA project.

2.      Take the lead at the community level for the implementation of LOSA activities

3.      Coordinate heavily with key community stakeholders in the implementation of community LOSA activities.

4.      Be responsible for the Learning Centre setup and operations at the community level.

5.      Form learning centre management groups, create schedules for learning centre members, sign MoUs at the learning centre level and general LC operations.

6.      Coordinate with the Agricultural Training Officer and Nutrition Officer as to when to implement various related activities.

7.      Regular coordination with the Field Office Coordinator in work plans, and reports.

8.      Be responsible for documenting output achievements as well as beneficiary numbers of those involved in LOSA project activities.

9.      Act responsibly in the job assigned and practice good conduct according to the ADRA Timor-Leste Policy Manual and staff handbook.

10.  Undertake any other tasks that may be delegated by the ADRA Timor-Leste Program Manager / Finance Manager that are in keeping with the scope of the role.

Purpose of position
To improve attitudes and behaviours of rural communities in Viqueque district of Timor-Leste on sanitation and hygiene practices using CLTS methodology by assisting in ADRA Timor Leste’s community hygiene training programs (most likely to be based in Dilor Community, Lacluta Sub-district, Viqueque).

Only applicants with CLTS training experience will be considered for this position.

Contract Period

Starts no later than 1 April, 2016 or sooner if possible.

Finishes: June 30, 2016.

Role dimension

1.      Contribute to the monitoring of hygiene and sanitation outputs and project activities carried out by local female CHV’s and field staff.

2.      Collate relevant information and assist with reporting requirements to the donor.

3.      Network and liaise with District Health Officers, as well as local health centres and clinics.

4.      Conduct hygiene and sanitation training in all target communities.

5.      Manage the team of local CHV’s with ongoing follow up visits in communities after the completion of training events throughout the life of the project.

6.      Undertake any other tasks that may be delegated by the ADRA Timor-Leste Program Manager that are in keeping with the scope of the role.

Major challenges include working as part of a team, including collaboration with the Country and Field Offices, and engaging in continuous professional development and actively seeking to continuously improve program processes and outcomes. May be asked to work in remote locations.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities

1.      Experience in delivery and presentation of CLTS activities.

2.      Experience in conducting training and organising community based workshops.

3.      Good presentation skills and ability to communicate to varied audiences, including those with limited literacy.

4.      Produce monthly cash and inventory flow statements, and staff time sheet report

5.      Facilitate monthly administration data back-up
