Cardno Emerging Markets is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Agriculture Policy Adviser to support the Governance for Development (GfD) program.

Through the GfD program, the Australian Government is assisting the Government of Timor-Leste to implement its Strategic Development Plan by working with central agencies and selected line ministries to improve systems that are most important to economic management and service delivery.

The objective of the Strategic Agriculture Policy Adviser is to support the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries to ensure the programs funded by various Development Partners are coordinated at a strategic level in order to maximise the contribution of agriculture to Timor-Leste’s economic development, in line with the GoTL Guide for Economic Reform and Growth and the Strategic Development Plan.

This is a locally engaged staff position and will be based in Dili.  The successful candidate will be contracted until 30 June 2017 in the first instance.

Applicants should have a Bachelor degree in Management, Economics, Rural Development, International Development, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics or other fields relevant to this assignment, with preference for candidates who have a Master degree and experience in Monitoring and Evaluation.
