POSITION: Program Assistant, FSN-8
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
The incumbent will be responsible for promoting and managing the dynamic, grass-roots Ambassador’s Small Grant Fund Program, providing outreach to potential grantees and overseeing a diverse mix of community-based development projects. S/he will advise the Political-Economic Chief, the Ambassador and other officers on Mission cooperation with local communities and civil society. S/he will also support other political-economic activities and programs through grant management and administration.
* Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, liberal arts, language, sciences or humanities or related field is required;* Minimum of one year of experience in civil society development, cultural and educational activities, teaching, or related field is required;
* Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and Tetum is required; level 4 proficiency in either Portuguese or Bahasa is preferred;* Must possess substantial knowledge about social, political and education systems in both the United States and Timor-Leste; * Must have good written and oral communications skills; * Must have proficient computers and internet skills.
